March Favourites

It's the end of the month which means it's time for another favourites post and this ones filled with a lot of netflix. March has brought us snow, an eclipse, the finale of PLL and finally spring. Read on to see what I've been loving this month.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream has been my go to perfume this month with the days being brighter and spring definitely on it's way this perfume is perfect for spring days. It's light and airy with a fruity and floral scent plus the bottle is absolutely gorgeous *heart eye emoji*. I know I'm going to keep reaching for this through spring and summer.

Netflix ok so this is a given as I love Netflix every month but I had a lot of time off work in March due to not using up holidays and despite being off work I've had very little planned. Netflix has been filling up the days where I've not done apart from lazy around. I've finally finished The Office (U.S) which I loved and the finale was so touching and emotional that I cried a little. I've also finished watching Ru Pauls Drag Race which I'd been putting off because I can't bear knowing that they'd be no more lip syncing for your life in my life for a while. PLL has finished and that end of this past series was so gripping and intense even though we didn't get what we were hoping for. I'm a bit of a Netflix addict! I've just started Once Upon A Time and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, if you have any recommendations on what to watch on Netflix next please leave them in the comments below.

As well as Netflix I've also been loving having movie nights I've watched Before I Go To Sleep, Boyhood and Dallas Buyers Club. Before I Go To Sleep is an intense thriller that kept me guessing, it's about a women, Christine, who wakes up everyday remembering nothing after an accident in her past. Christine seeks treatment from Dr Nasch who encourages her to record her progress and thoughts everyday and watch them back each morning soon she discovers horrible truths and make her question everything. Boyhood was shot over 12 years and shows a young boy and his family growing up nothing major happens in this film but it's still a fantastic and unique film that is touching, it feels very real. It won't be to everyone's taste but I really enjoyed it. Dallas Buyers Club is a film I've been meaning to watch for ages but only got round to it this past week, it's based on a true story and set in the 80s in Dallas. It follows Ron Woodroof after he is diagnosed with AIDs and finds through research that the medication most likely to help him is only in clinical trials in the US and therefore unavailable for him. Ron then works around the system to help AIDS patients to get the medication they need.

Also this month I've been loving my new set of make up brushes from eBay so much so that all my other brushes have remained pretty much untouched. I bought this set of 10 make up brushes from eBay for £6.85, in the set you get 5 face brushes and 5 eye brushes. A lot of the brushes have multiple purposes so you really get your moneys worth. You can shop the brushes here and you get free delivery which is a bonus!

Mini Eggs ahh the joys of easter time the classic good sweet treats like Creme Eggs and Mini Eggs come out in their thousands and they are so hard to resist. This month I've had my fair share of Mini Eggs, well you've got to make the most of them before they disappear for another year right?

These eBay fake nails are also one of my favourite things from the month, I bought 600 yes 600 of these from eBay for £5.49 and you also get free delivery as if they weren't cheap enough. I love that I can paint them any colour and design I want and they file down like a dream to make them less pointy/sharp. I love the look of these nails or should or should I say claws, their super sassy and great quality. These are such a bargain too as a pack of oval/stiletto fake nails from Boots wouldn't give you much change from a tenner.

I hope you had a great March. What have you been loving this month? And what are your Netflix favourites?

Do We Share Too Much Online

This sounds strange coming from a blogger who posts online every other day for anyone to see but do we share too much online? We live in a world now where people post every part of their lives on social media we all know that one girl who cryptically posts statuses about her break-up or posts about every second of her pregnancy, the hung-over 'I'm never drinking again' statuses and the look what cool thing I'm up to now posts. Social media plays a key part in our daily life now and in some aspects it's great you can easily and quickly get news from around the world, keep in contact with friends and loved ones and keep an online diary of everything you've been up to but sometimes we share too much. I find Facebook is the worst for over sharing some people will post everything for everyone to see and it's scary.

Especially now when you can become an online 'celebrity' from posting a silly vine, things travel so fast online and once it's out there it's hard to get back sure you can delete the posts/photos but once it's seen it's seen you're no longer in control. Think before you tweet do you really want everyone to know what you're about to tell them remember some things are best kept private, most of the people who are reading your comments on you break-up statues are doing it for entertainment not everyone on your Facebook friends list are your actual friends. These days people take to social media to tell everything and in some aspects I think it's replaced real life communication with more and more people using social media to announce things and send out invites and so on.

Sharing online is part of our life now and social media sites aren't going anywhere, they'll probably be around for ever but we can control how much we give away. Don't get me wrong I love Twitter, I'm hooked on Instagram and I love blogging but I don't want to share every single aspect of my life on the internet, I like to keep something's to myself and live a life outside of the internet.

eBay Bargian Brushes

Last week I posted about some bargains I've recently bought - you can read that post here - and in that post I mentioned these make up brushes that I bought from eBay for £6.85 and not only is it a complete steal getting £10 makeup brushes for under a tenner you also get free delivery. You get a set of 10 makeup brushes, 5 face brushes and 5 eye brushes and they are extremely versatile one of the eye brushes is great for concealer. The brushes have a wooden handle and have really soft bristles, I've not used all them yet but the ones I have used have blended the products like a dream. You get such a variety of use from the brushes and I can see me getting a lot of use from them.

You can shop this set of make up brushes on eBay here.

Splurge or Save: Charcoal Face Mask

There's beauty products out there no matter what your budget and if you shop around you can sometimes find budget friendly dupes for high end products. Today I'm comparing two charcoal face masks, one you can get for under a fiver and the other is £23! First up we have Origins Clear Improvements face mask priced at £23 and at the cheaper end of the scale is the Quick Fix Facial Purifying Charcoal Mask priced at a more pocket pleasing £4.99. Both masks claim to draw out impurities and unclog pores giving lifeless skin. The cheaper Quick Fix Facials mask gives you 100ml of product compared to 75ml of that Origins gives you but the proof is in the pudding as they say do they give you results.

Both masks apply evenly and leave for face feeling tighter as they dry, I found that the Origins mask dries quickest, and both masks do what they claim. They drawn out toxins and clear pores leaving your skin clean and clear, the next day after using these masks you can really see the results and sometimes have a few pesky little spots as the mask has brought the toxins and impurities to the surface. There really isn't much between these masks expect the difference in price. If you can afford the Origins one and fancy a splurge then on you go but for a fiver your getting a just as good mask and more product.

Bargain Buys

Over the last two weeks I've picked myself up a few bargains and I thought I'd share them on me blog. Everything in this post was £10 or under.

eBay makeup brushes I wanted to buy some new makeup brushes but didn't want to spend a fortune on them because let's face it some make up brushes can be pretty expensive. These ones from eBay cost £6.85 and free delivery, bargain! You get 10 brushes in total 5 face brushes and 5 eye brushes so it comes in at around 68p a brush.

Dorothy Perkins Bag this leopard print lovely was £5 and an absolute steal. It's smaller than what I usually go for in a bag but I couldn't resist. I love the black with the leopard print and the long strap it was originally £12 but I got it in the sale and it was the last one in the shop. The girl who served me had to do a double take when it scanned at £5. I can't wait to use it I just need to learn to pack light.

Primark (p)leather jacket ugh isn't this jacket great, I'd been on the look out for a belted leather jacket for ages after I saw Matt Healey from The 1975 sporting one at a festival last year. Since I own a lot of leather jackets I couldn't bring myself to spend a lot of money on one but then I saw this one in Primark reduced down to £10 from £25 and I had  to have it. I love the look of this jacket it looks a bit biker/rock chick-esk and it's such a good weight it's kind of heavy so it doesn't feel cheap in the slightest. It's exactly what I've been looking for and for £10 you can't do wrong, thanks Primark!

My nails aren't looking their best just now they keep breaking and need some TLC so I decided to buy some false nails. In the likes of Boots and Superdrug fake nails cost almost £10 for 24 nails but on eBay I got 600 stiletto fake nails for £5.49 and free delivery (yes really, 600) the only catch is they don't come with nail glue but that's nothing to grumble about I went for natural ones so I could paint them myself and I'm really impressed with these nails the quality is great I was a bit dubious thinking the might be cheap but they really look like salon quality once their on. The stiletto point is sharp but they file like a dream so you can get the shape you want.

FOMO is a thing

My nan use to always say I had FOMO when I was a kid, I'd always want to know what was going on and be part of it and now that I'm older I'm completely aware of it, I really do have FOMO.

Fear of missing out or FOMO is a thing it's basically the fear of missing out on something exciting or interesting like an event going on elsewhere. I think social media has a key part into why lots of people get FOMO as now a days you can scroll through Instagram, Facebook and Twitter and see lots of awesome things going on like festivals, holidays and events that you're not part of and a little part of you thinks 'why is my life not like that?' We forget that what we see on social media is edited and we see only the good bits, what they want us to see.

We're all guilty of going 'I wish that was me' or 'ugh why can't my life be that awesome' I know I certainly am. No one wants to be left out when something good is happening. When it comes to dealing with FOMO remember to not get caught up in social media sure be curious but don't be jealous, remember what we see is edited down to photo or a quick post.  All our lives go through 'boring' patches at times so don't beat yourself up because you're not traveling Australia. Be thankful for what you are doing and the things you have been planning and let it inspire you to do the things you really want to do.

Battle Of The Brow Kits

Over the past few years eyebrows have become big in the beauty world, almost everyone has upped the brow game and they've become a vital part of  doing your make-up. A couple of years ago there wasn't much out their for doing your eyebrows the odd brow gel and pencil but that was about it now almost every drugstore brand has some sort of brow product even some of the most budget friendly brands boasts some brow product. When it comes to doing your brows there are endless products you can reach for and today I'm going to focus on brow kits as I've collected a fair few up. All the brow kits featured in todays post are all from drugstore brands and all under £10.

Collection Work The Colour Eye Brow Kit £3.99 I got this ages ago and I'm sure I go it for free because I spent over a certain amount on Collection products. I don't love the packaging I think it looks cheap but then it is £3.99! In the kit you get 3 powders, a clear brow gel and a doubled ended brush, this kit is only available in one shade but the 3 powders are all different colours there a blonde, a medium brown and a dark brown. The mirror inside the kit is really thin and if I'm honest I think it's pointless it needed to be bigger, the pigment in the powder isn't that great and the brow gel is ok. Overall I wouldn't buy this again I've save the money and invest in something better.

Sleek Brow Kit £8.49 this one is the most expensive brow kit out of the lot, it comes in a sleek black square compact with a mirror inside and it comes complete with a wax, a powder, mini tweezers and an angled and a blending brush. It's small enough to slot in your makeup bag and carry around with you. This is the brow kit I've used the most, I really like it, the brushes are a good size they might look small but the angled one is great for defining and creating shape. The powder and wax are highly pigmented and they last for ages, the tweezers aren't the best but that's just a little grumble overall this is a really great brow kit! The Sleek Brow Kit comes in 4 shades: light, dark, extra dark and black.

SEVENTEEN Brows That Brow Kit £5.99 this brow kit from SEVENTEEN comes with a wax, a powder, a highlighter, a mini eyebrow pencil and a mini brush plus it's got a good sized mirror inside. The wax and powder are good but not as pigmented as the Sleek Brow Kit, the highlighter is good but a little bit of the shimmery side, the mini pencil is ok and the brush is good. This brow kit only comes in one shade and it's middle of the road if your blonde this will be too dark and if your dark this will be too light. Overall this isn't a bad brow kit if your a medium brunette but any lighter or darker then it probably won't do, it's not the best but it's not the worst.

MUA Eye Brow Kit £3.50 this is the cheapest kit and comes from Superdrugs budget friendly range MUA and the packaging isn't great it's chunky and doesn't close properly, there no where for it to click into place so it if it's bashed about the lid will open and the brush will fall out on the plus side though it has a large mirror inside. Within the kit you get mini tweezers, a double ended brush, two powder shades, a highlight and a wax. The brush isn't great one side is very stiff and the double ended brush it tiny making it hard to use, the tweezers aren't too bad, the powder pigments are ok the dark powder pigment is the strongest and the wax is good. I think what you get for £3.50 is good since you get powder, wax, a brush and tweezers and this is good for someone just trying out a brow kit again it's not the best available but for the price its good value for money.

Out of all the brow kits I've tried I always go back to Sleek, it might be the pricier out of the four but it's the best one. It's compact enough to fit in your makeup bag, easy to use and gives the best quality. Do you use a brow kit? What do you use?

Face Mask Face Off

I love a good face mask there a vital part of a pamper night and can also been a saviour for your skin, I've used my fair share of facemask and always have a few in my bathroom stash. So I've went through my collection and pulled some of my favourite masks to share with you. Dry skin, troubled skin, blemished skin I've got it all covered.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask £10 this face mask is aimed at blemished skin and I find this mask to be so refreshing. The mask is thick and green with a strong tea tree smell, you apply a generous amount over your face and neck then leave it on for around 15 minutes -this mask doesn't dry- then rinse it off. Instantly my skin feels cool and refreshed.

The Body Shop Honey and Oat 3 in 1 Scrub Mask £10 this mask is aimed at people with normal/dry skin and is another wet mask, it cleanses, polished and moisturises your skin. This can be used weekly to remove dead skin cells and leaves my skin feel soft although the first time I used this mask it worked well on 90% of my face but left me with a few dry patches which it stage as it's aimed at normal/dry skin. Also the smell confused me it almost smells good enough to eat but also a bit like sun cream.

Lush Mask of Magnaminty £9.75 this is an all rounder and probably my favourite mask of all. It can be used on your face and body, it calms, clears and cleans the skin plus it exfoliates as you remove it because it contains aduki beans. This mask has a strong peppermint smell and it a thick green consistency you simply apply a thick layer over your skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes before removing in. I fell in love with this mask last year and since then I've never not had one in my stash.

Origins Clear Improvements Mask £23 if your skin is looking lifeless and congested then this is for you, this charcoal mask draws out impurities and unclogs your pores. I only use this mask when I need it so it lasts a while because I'm not using it weekly, I open up all my pores before applying this mask and leaving it to dry. Once it's dry your face will feel tighter and it's ready to wash off, my skin looks clear and sometimes the next day you can have some pesky little spots that the mask has drawn out.

Origins Out Of Trouble Mask £23 this is a 10 minute mask to help troubled skin you layer this mask over your face wait 10 minutes then rinse off. Sometimes I just use this on troubled areas and it works a treat it really does help rescue your skin, it calms down spots/problem areas and soaks up oil. It's aimed at people with oily/combination skin but will help all skin types when they are having a little trouble.

The mask I use depends on how my skin is so I like to have a few at arms length in case of a skin emergency but if I had to pick only one out of all these masks it would have the be the all rounder and amazing Mask of Magnaminty from Lush. Have you used any of those face masks? What's your all time favourite face mask?
